The Fire

During our trip to Utah a fire broke out on the mountain right outside my parents back door. Of course I called Jason right away to talk about it and I had to take pictures to add to our fire photo albums. I think this will be the only set in there though that I was the one taking the pictures. It was an exciting night. Buy the time they got it put out it ended being about 574 feet away. Luckily we did not have to evacuate. The firefighters on the job did a wonderful job protecting the homes. It was actually kind of fun to watch the whole process though. I usually just get the hear all of Jason's stories.

When it first broke out they had plains dropping fire retardant. I will tell you one thing it is amazing where some of those pilots can fly to drop the retardant. There were so many power lines around I didn't think they would be able to pull up in time. It definitely takes guts and talent.

This was at night. It lit up the whole sky. It was actually really pretty. The next morning a helicopter was there dropping water.

This is also a picture the next morning when it had made it all the way down the mountain.

My dad and Jon looking at the fire with there (as Jon would say) "knockers".
